Festivals

Farmington, New Mexico and Durango, Colorado are both vibrant communities with a variety of festivals and events throughout the year. Here are some of the major events and festivals found in each city:

Farmington, New Mexico:

• Riverfest - This festival is held in May and celebrates the San Juan River with live music, food vendors, a parade, and a river parade.

• Connie Mack World Series - This annual baseball tournament is held in August and brings together top teams from across the country to compete for the Connie Mack World Series title.

• Totah Festival - Held in September, this festival celebrates Native American art and culture with a juried art show, live music, dance performances, and traditional foods.

• San Juan County Fair - This fair is held in August and features live music, rodeos, carnival rides, and agricultural exhibits.

Durango, Colorado:

• Durango Blues Train - This unique event takes place in May and features live blues performances on a historic narrow-gauge train that winds through the beautiful San Juan Mountains.

• Iron Horse Bicycle Classic - This annual event is held over Memorial Day weekend and features a variety of bike races and events, including a road race, mountain bike race, and cruiser crit.
